Maffia + KFM Expanded :: 2Blue’s Fattore Sonoro — free streaming now on Rizostream
2025 marked the thirtieth anniversary of the Maffia Illicit Music Club — the first season ran from 1995 to 1996 — the cultural and sonic laboratory that between the late Nineties and the mid-2000s redrew the boundaries of experimental music, electronic music and club culture in the heart of Emilia. A unique relational ecosystem, capable of connecting artists, producers, DJs and thinkers in a network of projects that responded to no market logic whatsoever, but to one alone: the continuous germination of ideas, sounds and visions.
To mark this anniversary, and alongside the publication of “Tutte le mani del Maffia” (NUKFM027, 1 May 2026) — the first historical and critical reconstruction of the entire Maffia/KFM universe — Rizosfera-NUKFM has decided to make some of the fundamental records produced within the orbit of the Kom Fut Manifesto available for free listening on the Rizostream platform. The Kom Fut Manifesto was the operational and productive arm of the club. Records that are sold out, out of print, impossible to find: today free, for anyone who wants to listen.
2Blue — Sonic Painting at the Heart of Industrial
2Blue is the project of Enrico Marani and Luca ‘DJ Rocca’ Roccagliati — two figures who within the Maffia and Kom Fut Manifesto landscape occupied a position of pure research, distant from the dancefloor yet born from the same listening culture. Their definition of “sonic painting” was not a decorative metaphor: it was a precise aesthetic programme, a working method in which sound was material to be layered and scores were canvases to be painted.
Fattore Sonoro (KFM012, 2003) is the first chapter of this project — and already contains within it the entire world of 2Blue. The music moves through a fertile and unstable border zone: electronic drones, jazz breaks and ambient textures coexist with micro-variations of industrial drones that owe much to the research of Enrico Marani, a figure with a significant background in Italy’s industrial research and experimentation scene. Alongside him, the jazz freedom of DJ Rocca — a seasoned navigator of airy breakbeats — steers the project towards unexpected crossmedia territories.
It is no coincidence that 2Blue forged a deep collaboration with painter Andrea Chiesi (Fattore Sonoro, KFM012/2003): the album’s cover, the fruit of his work, is not an illustration but an extension of the sound itself. Music and painting here do not accompany one another: they generate each other. This capacity to cross borders between disciplines — music, visual arts, poetry — is precisely what made 2Blue one of the most representative projects in the Maffia/KFM galaxy: not a genre group, but an expanding field of forces.
Fattore Sonoro remains today an album of electronic abstractions painted with extreme taste: two sonic worlds in collision, producing something irreducible to any category. An essential document of an unrepeatable moment.
The record has been sold out and out of print for years. To mark the thirtieth anniversary of the Maffia Illicit Music Club, Rizosfera-NUKFM is making it available for free streaming on the Rizostream platform. Listen here:
