Enrico Marani has built up various artistic and sound projects over time. He began his musical experience in the 1980s by taking part in the T.A.C. experience with Simon Balestrazzi and Massimo Pavarini and giving concerts and performances in Italy. He founded Duozero, with Fabrizio Tavernelli (AFA) playing at various festivals and involving musicians such as Massimo Zamboni (CCCP, C.S.I.) writers (Davide Bregola) and actors (Marco Valerio Amico) who also took part in the recordings of the two albums; Duozero’s music was used for soundtracks and documentaries. He founded Secret Voices together with American guitarist Tim Motzer (Ursula Rucker, Jaki Liebezeit and David Sylvian) and Naked Eye with Scottish cellist Christine Hanson. In the 1990s, he participated in the Maffia Illicit Music Club collective art experience with the 2blue project together with DJ Rocca (Franco D’Andrea, Electric Tree). 2blue collaborated on the album ‘Light Transmission’ with Ursula Rucker and Dave Watts (Fundamental) on vocals and Tim Motzer on guitar. He participated in Le Forbici di Manitù dada-pop project by Manitù Rossi together with music journalist and mail artist Vittore Baroni. For the past seven years, he has developed a solo project Samora, where he combines electronic music with poetry. Steve Kilbey (Church) and Christine Hanson participated in the recordings of the five albums. Together with Gavin Friday (Virgin Prunes) he created the music for the installation ‘The Casement Sonata’ hosted at the National Gallery in Dublin. For Rizosfera he released his latest album ‘Quasar’ with graphics by artist Stefano Ricci, collaborating with guitarist Eraldo Bernocchi (Harold Budd, Bill Laswell) and pianist Silvia Corda. He is currently working on a new project, Spectral Unit, together with Adi Newton (ClockDVA, T.A.G.C.): ‘Preternatural’ is the debut album published by A.R.E. Armcomm Rizosfera Europe (Nov. 2023).
