Lontano
Author: SAMORA (Enrico Marani)
Title: Lontano
Label: Tranquillo
Catalogue No. : TRAN005
Release date: October 2014
"Lontano" is the second album by Samora, a journey into a more tangible form of electronic music, characterized by a cinematic approach and grittier sounds compared to the debut album "The Unspeakable." The album features the collaboration of the poet, writer, and acclaimed leader of the Australian band "The Church," Steve Kilbey, who contributes to two tracks, "Oceana" and "Paul." Here, Kilbey writes and recites two hallucinatory lyrics, one of which, "Oceana," is cruelly dystopian, giving the album an international dimension. The title track, "Lontano," is accompanied by a video by Jonathan Donini that captures the essence of this work, creating visual landscapes complemented by dynamically evolving electronic textures. "Lontano" explores the depths of sonic experimentation with layers of electronic sounds fused into an emotional crescendo, transporting the listener on a sonically rich journey full of nuances that, overall, appear more restless than the debut album. "Lontano" transcends the conventions of electronic music, challenging expectations and inviting the listener to explore new sonic frontiers.
