The 33 rpm vinyls of «Limbo Session 1» have arrived! «Limbo Sessions» is a brand new recording project by Nicoletta Magalotti a.k.a. NicoNote that, in this first issue, dialogue with Bartolomeo Sailer a.k.a. Wang inc. – «Limbo Sessions» is a music project who tries to re-define with imagination the limits of songwriting applied to electronic music. As if the Autechre were in dialogue with Tracey Thorn or Elizabeth Fraser, or as if Nicoletta Magalotti were in dialogue with Wang inc. – which is the same thing, only shifted in latitude and longitude … And this work is as if it brought together thirty years of Emilian and Italian “radical clubbing” under a single becoming. Because behind the vinyl grooves on which the needle turns is the story of Morphine / Cocoricò (NicoNote / Nicoletta Magalotti), of Link (Bartolomeo Sailer / Wang inc.) and of Maffia (Rizosfera is the publishing house and sonic laboratory behind the Maffia experience) – these three experiences of ‘alternative clubbing’ are ideally united in this production-dialogue between poetry, dancefloor and songwriting. A soft but witty and profound experimentation. At the limits of the transgression of the canons, first of all of the Italian song and of the possibilities of other poetic forms in the song of digital matrix and culture. Furthermore, the Limbo Sessions foresee other juicy experiments in the future – in the next editions further developments are planned by NicoNote with other artists as guests.
