PARTISAN BREVIARY / NO RIFLE IN HAND
What does ‘partisan’ mean now? How stereotyped is this word, how alive is it? On the eve of the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the end of the war, with almost all direct witnesses gone, it is up to the grandchildren to take over the thread of the narrative. “Starting from personal events and intuitions, outside the ritual celebrations, outside the common feeling that brings us respectfully, almost automatically, closer to the struggle for liberation, is it possible to share reflections on what remains of that irrepressible need, of that pain, of that fatigue, of that daily fear, of that difficulty in giving a name to the future?”
It is in this perspective that Breviario Partigiano (Partisan Breviary) moves, the new project promoted by ex-CSI to be released on 25 April and which includes a film (‘Il Nemico’, by Federico Spinetti), a CD (the soundtrack of the film) and a book, a real Breviary, a collective writing where a hundred or so musicians, singers, directors, writers, poets agree to give a sentence to compose a summary of partisan liturgy.
