BIO LUCA DI MIRA
Luca Di Mira has been the keyboard player in Giardini di Mirò since the beginning. Since 2004, he has started a solo project, first making a handful of remixes published in Italy and Germany, and then making his first release under the name Pillow, with the album “Flowing Seasons” published in 2006 for 2nd Rec of Hamburg, a label active in the indie/electronica field. The album was released with the collaboration of several musicians such as Corrado Nuccini, a member of Giardini di Mirò, Andrea Mangia (Populous), Patrick Zimmer (Finn.), Matilde Davoli, Christophe Stoll (Nitrada), Jacqueline Tune and Lorenzo Lanzi. Since 2010 he has also dedicated himself to the realisation of some sound recordings for installations, performances, sound logos. In 2012, he realised the soundtrack for the short film “Made in Heaven” by Alberto Gemmi, a project to recover fragments of film found around France. 2012 is also the year that saw the release of his second album under the Pillow name “From Dusk to Dawn”, an album released by Berlin-based City Centre Offices, a label that published artists such as Remote Wiever, Dictaphone, Arovane, Christian Kleine, Swod and Ulrich Schnauss. Stylistically interested in blending acoustic and electronic sounds, his productions focus on interior explorations, a journey into the depths to investigate oneself and one’s surroundings, a personal dialogue that tries to tell of moods, feelings, fears and dreams and that give life to his soundscapes. In 2024, Luca Di Mira signs his third album for Rizosfera: the first single taken from the album Steps is the beautiful ballad And I Will Be There For You suspended between classical piano and contemporary electronics, launched in exclusive worldwide ‘open access’ streaming on 20 April 2024 on the Rizostream platform. Next 20 September 2024 will mark the release of the new album Steps, the result of the collaboration between Rizosfera-NUKFM and Consorzio ZdB, which will be entrusted with the worldwide physical and digital distribution of the album.
