The track of the month which we suggest to listen to on Rizosfera.net is ‘Aberrant Nuptials’, the unpublished mix that the collective Obsolete Capitalism presented at the Orpheus Institute in Ghent, on the occasion of the talk ‘Chaos Sive Natura’ (plateau/session chaired by Jean-Marc Chouvel). It was a sound/philosophy session within DARE2017 – a philosophical and artistic seminar dedicated to experimental forms related to the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze. The mix presents ‘Afro-Abstraction’ composition by Franco D’Andrea, a famous Italian jazz musician, and it is here presented in three different ‘variations’: the first provided by Obsolete Capitalism Sound System (track taken from debut album, Chaos Sive Natura), the second one from the Electric Tree’s debut album, Franco D’Andrea’s electro jazz combo with Andrea Ayassot and Luca Roccatagliati (Trio music Vol. I), the third one from the Electric Tree’s live show at the Jazz Festival in Correggio (Italy), which allowed the first variation by Obsolete Capitalism. The ‘Aberrant Nuptials Gand 2017 Mix’ plays, mixes and explores the three variations together (thanks to Dj Rocca).
Rizosfera and Obsolete Capitalism thank Franco D’Andrea, Andrea Ayassot and Luca Roccatagliati for the use of the track ‘Afro-Abstraction’ in the present mix.
