Network Ensemble :: Next album will be released by German label Mille Plateaux in 2019!

We are proud to announce that the next Network Ensemble record will be released by Achim Szepanski‘s Mille Plateaux in 2019. Amazing!

New Mille Plateaux release in February:
Network Ensemble • Flash/Demons

FLASH and DEMONS are two sound performances carried out by the Network Ensemble at precise times.
FLASH took place respectively 8 years after the symbolic financial market accidents of 6 May 2010 (known as Flash Crash, the fastest ever) and
DEMONS was performed 31 years after the 19 October 1987 (known as Black Monday, the first crash in which computers were implicated).

We focused on these two moments of rupture as we are interested in interpreting the impact of machinic/algorithmic-induced network noise on the survival networks of money, such as financial markets.
The sounds are mostly generated by software and hardware built by the Network Ensemble in the past two years, tools which are able to translate different types of data (network and historical trading) into sonic signals, live.
Other sounds are field recordings from relevant locations and news commentary found online.
