SAVE THE DATE! Damage Control is an exhibition curated by Lorenza Pignatti – a must visit. The artist on display is Mika Taanila, Finnish, film maker and visual artist. The title Damage Control already directs the exhibition towards conceptual, visual, and acoustic shores very close / adjacent to those of Obsolete Capitalism and Rizosfera. Open every weekend (Saturday and Sunday) until March 22nd. On March 15th – 04. p.m. – we will be present in Bologna, at the Esprit Nouveau, for a common reflection with the curator Lorenza Pignatti and the art director Alessandro Jumbo Manfredin entitled “Chaos Variations and Obsolete Capitalism at DAMAGE CONTROL”.
From 24 January to 22 March 2020, the Pavilion de l’Esprit Nouveau in Bologna hosts Damage / Control, the first solo show in an Italian public institution of the Finnish artist and filmmaker Mika Taanila (Helsinki, 1965), promoted by the Bologna Museums Institution | MAMbo – Museum of Modern Art in Bologna in collaboration with Frame Contemporary Art Finland, Kinotar (Helsinki), Testifilmi (Helsinki), Stòff Cultural Association and with the patronage of the Finnish Embassy in Rome.
Some information on the Esprit Nouveau, this magnificent architectural exhibition space: in 2017, forty years after its opening, the Esprit Nouveau pavilion (Piazza della Costituzione) was returned to the city of Bologna thanks to the Emilia-Romagna Region and the Municipality of Bologna who financed its restoration. The replica is faithful to every detail of the building designed by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret for the 1925 Universal Exhibition in Paris.
