PC PRESS’ PANEL AT KISMIF CONFERENCE WITH PETER WEBB, RICHARD CABUT, MATTHEW WORLEY, LETIZIA RUSTICHELLI AND PAOLO DAVOLI (RIZOSFERA / OBSOLETE CAPITALISM)
We are pleased to announce the seventh edition of the KISMIF International Conference ‘DIY Cultures, Democracy and Creative Participation’ (KISMIF 2024), which will take place in Porto, Portugal, between 10 and 13 July 2024.
The KISMIF Conference (2014-) is an international academic/cultural/artistic event based in the city of Porto (Portugal) and focussed on the discussion and sharing of information around underground cultures, DIY practices, urban arts and related themes. KISMIF focuses on cultural practices that are used to confront more massive and standardised forms of cultural production/creation/mediation, activating an anti-hegemonic ethos centred around an aesthetic and politics of the everyday “arts of making”.
KISMIF is so far the only conference to analyse the theory and practice of underground scenes and DIY cultures as increasingly significant cultural forms in the global context of precariousness and uncertainty.
