“The Clockwork Gears”: Rai Radio3 Tells the Story of Clock DVA. Three Weeks to Listen
On Friday 25 September, from 2.30 to 3pm, Rai Radio3 dedicated an episode of L’Idealista to Clock DVA, broadcast live nationwide on FM and DAB. The title chosen by the host: “Gli ingranaggi dell’orologio: 5 pagine dalla discografia di Clock DVA (e dintorni)” — The Clockwork Gears: 5 Pages from the Clock DVA Discography (and Surroundings).
At the microphone, Nicola Catalano — music critic for Blow Up and Rumore, a Rai Radio3 voice for over twenty years, part of the founding crew of Battiti in 2003 — who moved through Adi Newton’s world in five sonic pages:
1. Clock DVA — Drive The Exotic Non-Essentials (from Second Sight)
2. The Future — Blank Clocks
3. The Anti Group / T.A.G.C. — Chozzar Over Abyss (from Digitaria)
4. The Box — Strike
5. Clock DVA — 4 Hours (from Thirst)
It is not a chronological tracklist, and that is its virtue. It opens on the most recent material, returns to 1977, crosses the parallel projects and the branches of the story, and closes on Thirst — where it all begins.
During the broadcast, alongside our production work as Rizosfera, Paolo Bertoni’s book Adi Newton: Second Sight (Nukfm/Rizosfera) was also mentioned.
