Third and last meeting, Wednesday 19 July, 7 p.m. On this evening, we will deal with the ‘rebels of the 1980s’. As we know, the 1980s have often been portrayed as a decade of glitter, fashion, wealth, television (think of all the talk surrounding the recent death of Silvio Berlusconi). But in this evening we would like to question the ‘dark’ side of this decade, its jammed mechanism. That is, the explosion of a youth counter-culture such as Punk, which with its tribes gave rise to another type of narrative, an alternative one, which anticipated themes such as those of ecologism, pacifism, ‘gender’ and the search for ‘other’ styles and forms of life, even on an aesthetic and socio-cultural level (think of the idea of cultural self-production, of autonomous spaces, or of styles, even of clothing, opposed to the traditional ones). The production of an ‘imaginary’ that, however minority, has circulated throughout the world.
