On Saturday 1 October, the final live show of the artistic residency project for young people specialising in field recording activities
Saturday 1 October concludes with a concert “Exodus: body, mobility, borders”, the artistic residency promoted by the Music Centre of the Municipality of Modena and Rizosfera in which three young sound designers from the area took part. The appointment is at 9 p.m. in the Tower of the MusicHub, in via Morandi 71, where the “restitution” live performance of the project developed in recent weeks in collaboration with the Rizosfera association within the Sonitus Project and the activities linked to Modena as Unesco Creative City for Media arts is scheduled.
The ‘Exodus’ project focused on field recording and was curated by Giuseppe Cordaro and guest tutor Luca Roccatagliati (Dj Rocca), with the participation of drummer Youssef Ait Bouazza (Savana Funk) and video artist Ali Beidoun. The public call for applications, addressed to musicians under 36 years of age resident or domiciled in Emilia-Romagna, saw 43 applications from which three artists – Gerarda Avallone, Tobia Bandini and Giampaolo Cassano – were selected. During the five-day residency, they realised together with the tutors a multimedia work based on the concept of the body and its mobility, with a reflection on migration and reception. The artists directly visited city places – associations, communities, community centres – where audio contributions were recorded and manipulated for the production of the final work.
