28 April 2025! Today marks the release of one of the most anticipated post-punk/indie albums in the Italian scene: Energumeni—available now across all physical and digital platforms.
The brawny standard-bearers of this debut double album – Energumeni (they didn’t waste breath on titles, but an energumen is ever sparing in gestures) – are:
Fabrizio Tavernelli (the Padan plains’ storied chronicler, weaving tales between the River Po’s sturgeons and tentacled swamp aliens) and Manitù Rossi (a.k.a. Francesco Coccio), that peerlessly bizarre sound-shaman conjuring low-distortion industrial fervor, rural unease, and impish, knife-sharp wit.
With Energumeni, nothing less than a third-millennium psychedelic-peplum masterpiece could be born: two murky minds, coiled like serpents in shared hallucination, invent worlds where logic drowns in crackling, lurid hues. They laugh at canon, spit on maps; their art is a reckless tango between genius and genitalia. (What is creation if not a lewd jest whispered in the gods’ ears?)
The Energumeni dissolve borders: sound becomes flesh, flesh becomes myth. Every note, every stroke – a sticky-fingered rebellion. “Watch us,” they grin, “we’ve set the sky ablaze” (a final Chlebnikovian flourish…).

**Some clarifications are necessary, point by point, to expand the reach of this stunning double vinyl album’s publication:
First Point: DOWNLOAD
Inside the double vinyl packaging, you’ll find a small printed card with a download code for the entire album. This download card is included in both the standard double vinyl edition and the special limited edition (50 copies only), which includes the double vinyl, booklet, and CD-R. Where is the download card NOT included? Only in the CD-R and booklet edition (Point 3 of the available editions listed on the Rizosfera website, as mentioned above).
Second Point: UNLIMITED DIGITAL STREAMING
Digital streaming on the Rizostream platform is free and exclusively linked to purchases made via Rizosfera. The streaming code for Energumeni is sent by the Rizostream platform at the exact moment the online purchase is confirmed on the Rizosfera website. The album is available for streaming 24/7, with no restrictions. The Rizostream code is tied to the email address provided by the buyer during checkout and is non-transferable.
Registering on Rizostream also grants free access to a vast library of ‘open access’ albums (different from Energumeni), but other albums on the platform can only be streamed if previously purchased via the Rizosfera website. The Energumeni streaming code is sent to buyers of all three editions and is exclusive to Rizosfera customers. An added value of Rizostream for Energumeni is the inclusion of two bonus tracks—Ne hai del tufo and Provenienza km zero—which are only available on Rizostream and not on other streaming platforms.
Third Point: SPECIAL EDITIONS OF THE ALBUM
The two special editions are only available for purchase on the Rizosfera website. The vinyl album is physically distributed to record stores via Audioglobe and digitally via standard streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, YouTube, etc.) through the ZDB Consortium’s multi-link https://bfan.link/energumeni . However, the two numbered special editions (with booklet and CD-R) are exclusive to Rizosfera, and the bonus tracks are only available for free on Rizostream, in addition to the full album.
Fourth Point: THE CD
At this time, there are no plans to produce a physical CD version of Energumeni. The only way to listen to the album on CD is by purchasing the numbered special edition with booklet and high quality CD-R (which also includes unlimited digital streaming with the bonus tracks).
