Domenico Morreale is a researcher in Sociology of Cultural Processes, a university lecturer in Transmedia Communication and a video-maker. During his PhD in Cultural Heritage at the Politecnico of Turin, he deepened his study of the forms of communication of audiovisual heritage through digital technologies, participating in research projects involving Archivio Luce, Teche Rai, Archivio Audiovisivo del Movimento Operaio e Democratico and Archivio del Cinema di Impresa. His next research focuses on the complementary use of different media for the communication of cultural heritage. He is responsible for the transmedia design of the projects Aequilibrium (Politecnico di Torino, 2013), Futour2045 (IMMaginario Festival, 2015) and Mysteria (AimaProject 2017) where augmented reality, social media and videos cooperate in the creation of playful narratives for cultural promotion. Together with Riccardo Milanesi, he is the author of the book “Alternate Reality Game” (FrancoAngeli, 2021) in which he gives voice to his research and production experiences in the field of playful and immersive cultural communication. In his video-making activity he expresses his interests in the aesthetics of spatial editing, in the remix of archival audiovisuals as well as in the syncretism of video clips. With Bitpop Music Videos he is the author of several music videos, visuals and documentaries made in collaboration with Marco Milanesio (DsorDNE), including works for Osvaldo Arioldi (Officine Schwartz), Paola Bianchi, Braconidae, Burning Gates, Forces of Light, Selfimperfectionist, Stars+Crusaders.
