Sophisticated, lunar, rarefied, nocturnal, erotic, voluptuous, poetic, visionary, vital :: Polychron Plus is the new electroacoustic project by Aurelio Menichi and Gabriele Gai that deserves more than attention. A few days ago “She’s always been there” came out: it’s their first album for the newly born Totem and Taboo, distributed by Materiali Sonori. Simply put, it is a masterpiece. Inside there are exceptional collaborations, from Anna Domino to NicoNote, Alex Spalck, Daniele Biagini to Blaine L. Reininger, ending with Carmen D’Onofrio and Luc van Lieshout. Those who have loved a certain ‘neo-renaissance’ sound of ‘SCUOLA TOSCANA’ and of the Tuscan-European area, transnational and transgenerational, from Tuxedo Moon, Pankow, Suite Inc. and Minox onwards, will not fail to be moved by the mastery of Polychron Plus. The album is a delirium of poetic and acoustic enjoyment, starting with “Pocketknife” with Anna Domino’s fabulous voice, then the impressive “Alaska Drive” with NicoNote’s voice and ending with the unreachable “Lo Scrigno d’oro” with Alex Spalck’s narration. And more surprises, vinyl EPs, videos, are coming –  so stay tuned! We have a few copies available at the Rizosfera shop to support the project, with CDs and unlimited digital streaming. Enjoy the music!
