AQUATICO LIVE MULTIMEDIA EVENT :: Published on RIZOSTREAM OPEN ACCESS (free digital streaming)

The artistic residency SONITUS 2024-2025, focused on field recording and sound manipulation, culminated in an original production.

On Saturday, January 18, 2025, the composition born from the residency “Sonitus 2024/2025 – Acquatico” was previewed at La Torre del Centro Musica in Modena. The project explored the influence of water in sound experimentation through a multidisciplinary approach.

Coordinated by Giuseppe Cordaro and sound artist Valerio Cosi, with contributions from Loredana Antonelli (visuals) and Ginevra Nervi (electronics), the project resulted in a collective work where sound and visuals merged into an immersive experience.

Alongside the tutors, the four selected artists performed:

  • Alessio Vanni (sound design)

  • Leonardo Pini (guitar)

  • Gabriele Genta (percussion)

  • Giovanni Fiorani (sound design)

The final piece developed an innovative language, blending hydrophonic recordings, electroacoustic processing, and improvisation, creating an ever-evolving sound flow. Water served as both subject and instrument, with its natural rhythms and fluid timbres inspiring unprecedented musical structures.

On the Rizostream platform, you can now listen to:

  • The live recording of Acquatico‘s debut performance at La Torre (Modena) on January 18, 2025 (mixed and mastered by Valerio Cosi)

  • The audiovisual recording filmed by director Ali Beidoun at Teatro delle Passioni (Modena) on May 13, 2025, as part of the L’Altro Suono Festival.
