Experimental radiophonic electronic explorations from new collaboration between Meat Beat<\/strong>
\nManifesto\u2019s Jack Dangers and Adi Newton of Clock DVA<\/strong><\/h3>\n

S\u014don is a new project for 2025 from two legends of electronic music: Adi Newton, founder member
\nof Sheffield\u2019s Clock DVA, and Jack Dangers, the architect of Meat Beat Manifesto.
\nJoin Jack and Adi on an uncanny and thrilling adventure in pure electronics and tape archive, an
\nexploration of theoretical frameworks for a new kind of thinking expounded by intellectuals of the
\npsychedelic experience. It\u2019s a celebration and continuation of a post-war era when avant garde
\nwestern thought was edging towards cosmic consciousness\u2026 with an avant garde electronic music
\nto match it.
\n\u2018Actions Made Audible\u2019 is a fantastical and deeply satisfying sonic journey though spectral
\ndimensions and psychedelic radiophonics, with exquisite sound design and beat making. The album
\nfloats between a sonic evocation of a mushroom trip to a time when sonic adventurers were
\ncapturing interference from the ghostly on reel to reel recorders in suburban north London living
\nrooms.
\nIt all culminates with the gorgeous swirls and arpeggios of \u2018Seratiam\u2019, a magical six minutes, a ghost
\nmemory of Berlin school beauty, machines and Mellotron tapes in heart-stopping harmony.<\/h4>\n

ADI NEWTON<\/strong>
\nAdi Newton formed Clock DVA in 1978, another Steel City product making music with English synths
\nand tape loops. Prior to Clock DVA, he\u2019d been in various experimental Sheffield outfits with
\nmembers of Cabaret Voltaire and future founders of The Human League. The band\u2019s first album,
\nthe cassette-only \u2018White Souls In Black Suits\u2019, was released by Throbbing Gristle\u2019s Industrial label
\nafter which they signed to Fetish Records, alongside 23 Skidoo and Bush Tetras. The first line-up
\nsplit in 1981, since when Clock DVA has been a sporadically active but abiding project for Newton
\nand various collaborators to explore aspects of electronic music in always interesting and unexpected
\nways. There was a lavish six-disc vinyl boxset \u2018Horology\u2019, released by Vinyl On Demand in 2012, and
\nmore recently \u2018Noesis\u2019 in 2023 and 2024\u2019s \u2018EXT Vol 1\u2019 saw Clock DVA touring again to enthusiastic
\naudiences.<\/p>\n

JACK DANGERS<\/strong>
\nJack Dangers first encountered a recording studio in the early 80s when he found himself helping
\nfellow Swindonites XTC at a cheap facility in the town. His first band, Perennial Divide, was produced
\nby Andy Partridge and in 1988 he formed Meat Beat Manifesto and released the groundbreaking
\nsampling masterpiece \u2018Storm The Studio\u2019, before signing to Play It Again Sam and putting out two
\nera-defining12-inch singles, \u2018Helter Skelter\u2019 and \u2018Radio Babylon\u2019 which sealed MBM\u2019s reputation as a
\nprime mover in the electronic music underground, with unmatchable beats and bass. Meat Beat
\nManifesto toured with Nine Inch Nails, and later signed to Trent Reznor\u2019s Nothing Records, while
\nJack has remixed David Bowie, David Byrne, Silver Apples, Depeche Mode, MC900FT Jesus,
\nMickey Hart and many more and released more than a dozen albums as MBM and half as many
\nagain as Jack Dangers.<\/p>\n
