KATHODIK WEBZINE :: REVIEW BY MARCO PAOLUCCI<\/h2>\n

New release from Clock DVA<\/strong>, a band that frequently and willingly ventures into KathodiK realms, including the offshoots of Adi Newton and Maurizio Tez Martinucci. This release, too, comes from their parent label, Rizosfera<\/em>. The work, EXT Vol. 1<\/em>, is the first in a series of compositions based on material recorded at EMS Elektronmusikstudion in Stockholm between April 18 and 24, 2016.<\/p>\n

Taking this opportunity, I refer you to my interview with Studio Director Mats Lindstr\u00f6m [here<\/a>], and now I\u2019ll discuss the album.<\/p>\n

Clock DVA engages in a series of musical improvisations driven by continuous, direct communicative exchanges, marked by immediate responses. This effort seeks to bring to light and render tangible the emotional and unconscious processes linked to the sounds they create.<\/p>\n

What the listener encounters is a finely crafted sonic work, ranging from electronic \u201cwalks in moccasins through the icy matrix\u201d to meditative ballads combined with electro-dance sketches, dark ambient fragments enveloping the soundscape, languid slow-funk undulations, and slow progressions of pure sounds intelligently roaming through space.<\/p>\n

Another excellent addition to Clock DVA\u2019s musical poetics, which I highly recommend exploring!<\/p>\n
