\nOn Saturday 23 September, at 9.30 p.m., La Torre del Centro Musica Modena will host “Prima delle Radici” (Before the Roots), a concert on the return of the artistic residency on spatial practices related to listening and its philosophical implications, as well as recording, signal sampling and real-time audio post-production\/manipulation. The course was curated by Giuseppe Cordaro<\/strong> and guest tutor Fabio Perletta<\/strong>, with the participation of percussionist Enrico Malatesta<\/strong> and videoartist Domenico Morreale<\/strong>, and involved three young artists under 36: Constantinov Artiom, Hernan Paulitti and Dominic Sambucco.
\nOver the course of five days of residency, the selected sound designers, together with their tutors, created an original multimedia work focusing on approaching sound matter from perspectives belonging to other fields such as biology or evolution, in an attempt to construct a new musical language that syntactically borrows certain behaviours from the plant and animal world.<\/p>\n
