He is the author of four books: <\/span><span class=\"a\">Nomad <\/span><span class=\"a\">Codes: Adventures in Modern Esoterica\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">(Yeti, 2010), <\/span><span class=\"a\">The Visionary State: A <\/span><span class=\"a\">Journey through California\u2019s Spiritual Landscape\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">(Chronicle, 2006), with <\/span><span class=\"a\">photographs by Michael Rauner, and the 33 1\/3 volume.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span class=\"a\">Led Zep<\/span><span class=\"a\">pelin IV\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">(Continuum, 2005). His first and best-known book remains <\/span><span class=\"a\">T<span class=\"l8\">echGnosis: Myth, Magic, and Mysticism in the Age of Information\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"a\">(Crown, <\/span><span class=\"a\">1998), a cult classic of visionary media studies that has been trans<\/span><span class=\"a\">lated into five languages and recently republished by North Atlantic <\/span><span class=\"a\">Press. He has contributed chapters on art, music, technoculture, and <\/span><span class=\"a\">contemporary spirituality to over a dozen books, including Suzanne <\/span><span class=\"a\">Treister\u2019s <\/span><span class=\"a\">HFT<span class=\"l7\">: The Gardener <\/span><\/span><span class=\"a\">(Black Dog), <\/span><span class=\"a\">Future Matters: the Persistence <\/span><span class=\"a\">of Philip K<span class=\"l6\">. Dick\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"a\">(Palgrave), <\/span><span class=\"a\">Sound Unbound: Writings on Contemporary <\/span><span class=\"a\">\u00a0Multimedia and Music Culture.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span class=\"a\">(MIT, 2008), <\/span><span class=\"a\">AfterBurn: Reflections on Burn<\/span><span class=\"a\">ing Man\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">(University of New Mexico, 2005), <\/span><span class=\"a\">Rave Ascens<\/span><span class=\"a\">ion (Routledge<span class=\"l6\">, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"a\">2003), and <\/span><span class=\"a\">Zig Zag Zen\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">(Chronicle, 2002).
